A Flood of Evidence for a Young Earth 

     For those, especially Christians, who believe in an old Earth (billions of years), there is actually more credible evidence for a young Earth (~6000 years).  If God is this all powerful entity and is who He says He is in the Bible, why then do people, Christians in particular, claim that it was impossible for Him to wholly create the heavens and the Earth in a very short amount of time – six days?  The answer would be faithlessness and very little trust in the Bible’s Genesis account at which point most would then have to admit disbelieving it as the actual Word of God at all.   

     For those knowing, by faith and by His Word, that God created the Earth approximately six thousand years ago, we realize that much had to have and did occur during the first 1500 years of Earth’s actual history before the flood.  Civilizations rose and fell and many looked to have been very great and populace.  There are traces of large cities, huge in fact, currently located on the sea floors off the coasts of many countries.  How did they get there?  Well, according to God’s Word, corruption and evil abounded and with that, He performed a reset – a flood.  This flood was catastrophic and the geological evidences are incontrovertible.  How this flood shaped and reshaped our planet was astounding with the wiping away of the old and the rebuilding of the new in such a manner that defies human reason when leaving God and creation out of the picture.   

     During this flood, continents rose while others fell.  Mountains were created as layers upon layers of sediment were quickly laid one after another upon each other.  Wet layers, in many instances, bent and curved in various directions before hardening thereby providing other evidences of how mountainous rock can be young, curved and yet having no breakages or crumbling.  Layers such as these, if they had taken millions of years to accumulate and build, could never have been so perfectly formed without damage.  

     The evidence for a young Earth is real.  The logic for a young Earth is real.  Yet why do men clamor to prove “evolution/old Earth/Billions of years” with theories that really take nothing less than “faith” to believe?  They can prove that rock layers, for instance, takes many years to accumulate, yet, they disregard other events that would significantly speed up the process – such as a catastrophic flood event.  They disregard fossil evidence that could only be explained in the light of a flood event.  Instead of creation, mankind puts its faith in a science where there is no observable starting point and without that, all further suppositions could be suspect.  Why would people do that?  Why not put their faith in the One who was there from the beginning having observed His creation with delight; the One who also documented it for us with all of the necessary physical evidence needed as proof?  The answer is very clear… if mankind chose a young Earth scenario then men would have to acknowledge the existence of a creator – One that has the actual power to wholly create the universe in a very short span of time.
