In God's Trust

God's Law and Prophecy

I recently read a story titled, “Unheard of Mass Death That Wiped Out 60,000 Endangered Antelope in Four Days Still Baffles Scientists.”  Yet, it seems that there are many baffling events taking place recently all over the planet.  According to the Bible, there will come a time in our not so distant future that mankind will be struck with awe and wonder as well as with fear and trembling at what will be occurring all around them.  The Bible paints a very clear picture of what awaits mankind.

I have witnessed how excited and curious people become when viewing television shows on the so called prophecies of Nostradamus.  Yet, these writings are very vague and extremely unclear.  On the other hand, we have a book, the Bible, that clearly states our future and then backs itself up by providing past evidences of 100% success regarding its future prophesying.  Kings have been named, by name, hundreds of years ahead of time.  Complete histories of civilizations were spoken of in detail, names included, hundreds of years ahead of time.  Christ’s birth, life and death were spoken of hundreds of years ahead of time.  The Bible has been 100% accurate in its foretelling of future events which is now our past history.  Why then are people not excitedly clamoring to read the scriptures when they can learn of real future events?  Why is there not the same kind of excitement and curiosity regarding the prophecies of the Bible, especially when they are obviously so accurate?

Well, it is because the Bible also demands that mankind live by its moral law – the Laws of God.  Since most people are far too wrapped up in the pleasures of breaking most, if not all of these laws, they obviously don’t want to think about what might be the actual consequences of doing so, which are also stated in the Bible.  Therefore, since the Bible demands some sort of moral accountability, people, therefore, reject it and all that goes with it.

Some will say, “There is just no way a normal person could keep the commandments of God anyway,” as an excuse to ignore Bible scriptures.  This statement is very true.  All are guilty of breaking the commandments of God.  Yet, in choosing to ignore the Bible, mankind is also, therefore, ignoring and missing the most important message of the Bible – there is a Savior for the human race.  There is a person who paid the complete fine for the guilt of all mankind – past, present and future.  His name is Jesus.  When we, as lawbreakers, fully understand our guilt and therefore our eventual punishment; when we are truly remorseful and sorry for offending God through our sinning, we then have the ability to understand our need for a Savior.  We can then ask Jesus for His forgiveness.  We can accept Him as our Savior and let Him help us turn away from further lawbreaking.  We will never be perfect in this life, but we are forevermore covered by His righteousness which will allow Him to lead us into His Kingdom and Eternal life.

Since I grew up reading the Bible, it was natural for me to always think of life and how it all relates to God and the Scriptures.  Every day, my thoughts were upon God in some manner or form.  I was naïve, though, in thinking that most people around me had some contact with the scriptures during their lives.  I have recently discovered that my whole concept of how much people, in general, know of God has been completely overestimated.  I am constantly running into individuals, who when asked, know absolutely nothing of Bible scriptures, of God, of Jesus or of the Holy Spirit.  Therefore, they know nothing of sin, guilt, punishment, death and eternity in Hell.  They know nothing of the consequences of breaking the Laws of God.  Does this make them innocent in the end?  Not a chance.  Whether mankind knows it or not, God has instilled within them a sense of morality.  When they lie, thieve, cheat, etc., they are still guilty of sin and God will eventually punish sin wherever it is found.  They still need a Savior.

That is why we are called to evangelize the lost - the unsaved.  Those that know nothing of God need people with the guts and gumption to speak with them.  We need to explain to them that they are actually dying in their sins.  We need to tell them that life is short and Hell is real and that there is a final judgment that awaits all who are guilty of breaking God’s Laws.  We need to help them understand what sin is and that they are already guilty and awaiting punishment for their crimes.  We then need to introduce them to their Savior – the One who died in their places in order for them to escape judgment and Hell as their punishment.  We need to show people all around us how to live forever through Jesus Christ.

The world is going to increasingly become a much stranger place to live.  The planet is degenerating.  Mankind is degenerating, both physically and morally.  "But," you might say, "We are bigger and stronger than ever with our advancements in medicine and health care."  It's true, our technology is much greater, yet, our technology and knowledge have also revealed that, genetically, we are declining.  In every birth, it is a fact that there are many errors in our DNA.  The code, the manual, that we are built by is being corrupted with every human copy that is made.  We are compensating with technology and medicine, yet, we cannot stop the corruption at the most basic level.  We, as a species, are degenerating with no way to stop it from occurring.  The first model, Adam, was perfect, strong and intelligent.  He knew God. Then sin entered the picture and from that moment on, we began to decline, physically and morally.   Life spans of those first few generations of mankind were immense - close to a thousand years.  There has always been a direct correlation between sin, death and judgment.  Adam sinned which sealed the fate of mankind.  Our DNA began to deconstruct with every subsequent generation.

The Bible makes it clear that there will come an end to all that we now know and that we must recognize and prepare for this event.  The scriptures state very clearly the signs to watch for in order for us to not be caught off guard.  It calls these the Signs of the Times.  There will be signs in nature as in natural phenomenon.  There will be baffling events that we may consider to be super-natural or unnatural phenomenon.  There will be certain socio-economical signs as well as certain political signs and alignment of nationsMany of the events described in the Bible as occurring in the End Times of the Earth will rely upon several of the technological advancements of today in order to be fulfilled, yet the concepts were described two thousand years ago.  Such as, the Mark of the Beast, which is no doubt a form of authentication for identification, banking and computers.

What are these signs?  Read the Bible.  Get curious.  Get excited.  Learn the past, present and future of our planet and of its inhabitants.  The Bible leaves nothing out.  When we understand that the Earth had a created beginning and will have an end by the hand of God, we can then trust that He will also fulfill His promise of a new Earth and an Eternity in it for all who put their trust in Him.

Events that are baffling today will only increase in their occurrences as we approach judgment.  The frequency and intensity of natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, super storms, record colds, record heat waves, diseases, pandemics, all in one generation is a serious sign of the times.  In the generation since Israel again became a nation, we have seen the intensification and the increase of frequency of all these thingsYet, these items are just a foretaste of what is to occur in the days leading up to the Lord’s return.  Read Revelation as well as other Bible prophecies – old and new testament.  Read my book, Prepared for the Kingdom, which helps explain prophecy, past as well as future.

The Bible is the very Living Word of God.  It was God breathed.  Therefore, how could it be anything less than accurate since it was inspired by the master creator and builder of our universe.  Therefore, try to look at the Bible in a whole new light.  From now on, consider it to also be a complete history of our planet and of mankind.  When I say complete history, I mean in the context of standing at history's very end and looking backward.  Since the Bible describes the beginning of all things as well as its end, we can therefore do that.

From the beginning of man to the end of the millennial reign of Christ we are speaking of what may be approximately seven thousand years.  If that timeline is accurate, then we are standing at around 85% complete.  When narrowing our current timeline to the context of Christ’s second coming, we are, at any given point, close to seven years of being 100% complete.  When further narrowing our current timeline to the context of the Rapture of the Church, we are, at any given point, within milliseconds, or the twinkling of an eye of being 100% completed.

Don't be caught off guard and therefore unprepared for His coming.  Accept Jesus as your Savior.  Read the Bible and watch for the Signs of the Times.  Evangelize the lost and those that are ignorant of His Word; of His Laws; of His Judgment; of His Love so great that He died in our places; of Heaven and of Hell; of Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith and the hope of a future with Him in His Kingdom.
