True Love

I’ve heard it said that nothing brings more joy and happiness than that of raising children.  Some say that the happiest days of their lives were their high school days or their earlier childhood.  Others claim that college or a certain job has given them the most joy.  I, however, am very certain of the fact that I have never been so happy as on all the days that I have spent with my children.

My children are without a doubt the most precious belongings that I could ever own.  No other possession could I have, not jewels, neither money nor land could ever compare to the love that I have for my kids.  Not only do these feelings influence me in their daily welfare, but in their far reaching future lives.  What would it profit me to teach them how to live the next 50 years but then to lose them for an eternity after death?

Children, I know that you find it difficult to understand why your parents are always dragging you off to Church and Sunday school.  Even on pretty days when it seems to make more sense to go to the park or have a picnic.  Why be stuck inside listening to some person speak or shout about things that make very little sense?  Well, it’s because of the wonderful love that only parents really can know that causes them to be so concerned about your spiritual lives.

When I was a child I had several pets that I loved very much.  When one of them was sick, I would have a heartache for it.  The day that my favorite cat was hit by a car, I cried as if a close family member had died.  I believe that you all have something that you love very much.  Maybe it’s your best friend.  Let us suppose that that person was in grave danger.  A bomb was very close to him with only five minutes left on the timer.  Your friend couldn’t see the bomb that was so close to causing his death.  I have no doubt that you would do all that you could do to free him.  You would plead with him to the very end in order to convince him to follow you to safety.  You may even go so far as to risk your own life to deliver him out of that danger and make sure that he made it to a safe place.  I dare say that you would cry up a word of prayer to the Father for help in saving his life.

Well my children, I tell you now that the clock is ticking and time is running out.  There is a good chance that many of your friends are not Christians.  They are in danger of losing their very lives in the near future, if not by sickness or accident then possibly by age.  Still time is very short.  The Rapture is a real upcoming event and everyone must be ready or be left behind to face the terrible consequences.  They need to know how to find safety.  I’m sure most don’t even know what the future holds, that death is certain and Heaven and Hell are forever realities.

I would be devastated to know that one of my family members died without knowing Jesus.  To know that they are condemned to an eternity of suffering and separation from everything would be unbearable.  That is why I am willing to put up with the mumbling and grumbling from my own children when I say its time to go to church.  Their lives are much more important to me in the long run.

Be willing, as true loving friends, to listen to your friend’s mumbling or even laughter as you tell them of Jesus.  They may laugh at first but they will continue to think about what you have said.  The saving of a single life is well worth the teasing.  Please children, if you love your friends, tell them about Jesus.  Invite them to church and show them how to live forever.

Your Decision to Receive Christ as Your Savior:

Confess to God that you are a sinner.  Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins on the cross and was raised for your justification.  Receive and Confess Him as your personal Savior.

Assurance As a Believer:

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).
