God’s Word or Political Correctness - What Do You Choose?

I recently read an article that describes the actions of many of Christianity’s mainline denominations, showing how they have fallen away from God’s word.  Much of this falling away comes in the form of support for the Gay/Lesbian/Transgender Agenda.  Some churches no longer even teach of the infallibility of God’s Word stating that there are errors - basically untruths in the Bible.  They have also taken the position that many of God’s Laws are no longer valid in this day and time.  What they are doing is merely attempting to normalize indecency and deviancy just because of its prevalence in today’s society.  Tell me, what’s greater, God’s Word or political correctness?  I, myself, choose God’s Word.  On the day of judgment, sinners will be judged by God according to His Word and by His Laws – not by man and his own twisted ideas and wicked desires.

Fortunately, there are certain areas of the US where our churches have not yet faced the impact of this growing trend toward political correctness, but in much of the country the apostasy has become very prevalent, especially in many of the larger mainline denominations.  It is only a matter of a very short time before all areas of the nation will be confronted with these realities in their home churches.  Yet, what could possibly be the reason for a Christian church to turn away from the truth of God’s Word for the lies of mankind?

Do you remember the parable of the Wheat and the Tares?  Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;  but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.  But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.  So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.  Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn (Matthew 13:24-30).  Jesus indicated that to understand this parable is the key to the understanding of his other parables.  We must realize that there will be Christians and non-Christians side by side in our churches – the converted and the false conversions if you will.  Many of these false converts will be regarded as wonderful Christians and will hold offices of leadership and teachers but are, in fact, unregenerate sinners.  Unfortunately, their growing numbers are having a tremendous impact, like a cancerous disease growing out of control and literally pushing God out of many of our nation’s Churches/denominations.

Heed the warning of this verse, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matthew 7:23-23), and examine yourselves as to whether you are truly following God or following the ways of man.  Remember to pray for those who treat God’s Word and Laws as less than man’s ultimate authority.  Be courageous when confronting those who seek to change God’s Word to be in line with today’s politically correct agenda – even if it means being persecuted for maintaining that God’s Word is the only truth - Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12).  Remain strong and study the Word of God so that you won’t stumble when faced with persecution for the Word’s sake, but are able to stand fast, proclaiming to all that His Word is true and Holy.
